How To Root and Install CWM Recovery on Android 4.2.2 for Galaxy S2 Plus I9105

Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 device recently has received the official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.  The new release is named version XXUBMH4 and has been released for users in Russia. The new firmware has been released by OTA, but it can be also installed by using the Samsung Kies app.

The new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S2 Plus I9105 device has PDA: I9105XXUBMH4, CSC: I9105OXEBMH3, MODEM: I9105XXUBMH2, and was build in 21 August, 2013 for Russia Region first.
If you already have installed the new firmware and you want to know how you can root your device and also to install a custom recovery image as CWM on the smartphone, then you can follow this step by step guide.
This tutorial to install the CWM file is released by senior XDA member named OurJerry, and SuperSU file from a XDA develop to root the smartphone.

First, download and install the suitable USB drivers for Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus.

From Menu> Settings> Applications click on Development option and Enable the USB Debugging Mode on smartphone.

Create a full backup for all your data stored into device’s internal memory because the step by step tutorial might wipe out all data from the Galaxy device’s internal storage.
If in the Galaxy S2 Plus exist already installed a custom recovery tool such as CWM or TWRP the you can use the same to get a full NANDROID backup for the actual ROM which is running into device before to apply the root procedure.

Make sure that the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus device has more than 80 % power left in its battery.
The Galaxy S2 Plus device used for apply the root method should be factory unlocked and not locked to a mobile particular carrier.

Applying a root procedure the warranty for the device will be void; if you want to restore the warranty for the device then you should un-root the device later by applying a stock ROM.

 How to install the CWM Recovery custom image on Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 device.

Firstly, Download CWM recovery file (Jerry_recovery.tar.md5) from the link or from here.
Secondly, download the Odin v3.07zip file and extract it to obtain Odin3 v3.07.exefile and some other files.

Now, turn off the Galaxy S2 device totally (wait around 5 seconds for the vibration).

Boot it into Download Mode. (Press and keep holding the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons simultaneous until the construction Android robot draw appears on the smartphone’s display and then press the Volume Up button to enter in Download Mode menu.

Open the ODIN app by running the Odin3 v3.07.exe as Administrator.

Next, connect the smartphone to the PC by using the USB cord while the device is in Download Mode.
Look into ODIN interface to make sure that it will display an ADDED message, indicating successful connection and the COM port number will turn blue with the correspond COM port number.

If in ODIN doesn’t appear the Added message try to use another USB port and reinstall the US drivers once again into the PC.

Now, in ODIN app click PDA button.

Browse and select the Jerry_recovery.tar.md5 file.
Note: If the md5 file hash value failed error occurs when you want to flash the CWM file, then you need to remove the extension md5 from the file and install it again.

Important: Make sure that in ODIN,  the Re-Partition and F.Reset Time checkboxes not are selected and uncheck the Auto-Reboot option.
Verify once again all the steps.

Click the Start button in Odin to begin the flashing process.

Now, wait until the flashing process is done and the smartphone will restart automatically.
The complete installation is showed by ODIN with a PASS message with green background which will be displayed in the left box at the top of Odin.

Disconnect the Galaxy S2 Plus device form PC by removing its USB cable.

How to root Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 using SuperSU tool:

Download the SuperUser app ( via link.
Connect the Galaxy S2 Plus GT-I9105 device to the PC using USB cable.
Move (by using Copy and Paste) the downloaded SuperSU file to internal SD card of the device.
Turn off the smartphone.
Boot it into CWM recovery mode (To do this press and keep holding the Volume Up, Home and Power buttons in the same time). 

From the CWM recovery mode, select install zip from sdcard then choose zip from sdcard.
Browse and select the copied and confirm installation.
Now, wait while the root process is done, return to the CWM main recovery menu.
From the main recovery menu, select reboot system now.

That’s all, the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus device on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean (version XXUBMH4) was successfully rooted and also the CWM recovery tool was installed on the smartphone.

Note: In recovery mode of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Plus use the Volume keys to scroll between different options. Use the Power button to select the desired option.
